She has superior experience, competing alongside the best in the nation and the world. “Olivia has been in the USA elite system nearly her entire career. I could immediately feel her genuine no-nonsense approach and her commitment and desire to be the best she can be.” “She has incredible support from her parents and sister, and it is obvious that their ‘all-in’ attitude helps them tackle all challenges. “Olivia has a super strong family bond,” Kindler stated.
She competed at the 2014 JO National Championships, placing third on floor, fourth on beam and sixth in the all-around. Secret Classic, placing third on floor (2014) and eighth on vault and floor (2016). She has competed at the P&G Championships, placing second on vault (2014), eighth on floor (2016), and the U.S. Trautman, a current elite gymnast, traveled to Italy as a member of the 2015 City of Jesolo Trophy Junior National Team that won a gold medal in the team competition. Currently, Trautman attends Champlin Park High School. Trautman is the daughter of Jody and Lisa Trautman and has one sister, Kate. Olivia Trautman, a native of Champlin, Minn., trains at Twin City Twisters under the direction of Sarah Jantzi, Sami Wozney, Mike Hunger and Rich Stenger and was a teammate of current OU sophomore Maggie Nichols. We are thrilled to watch her reach her peak and greatness at OU. Teamwork motivates her, she’s driven to work with purpose and unrelenting in her goals. Her work expresses what we as fans are all drawn to in this sport: uniqueness and presence! Allie is made for college gymnastics. We know Allie will contribute to the Sooners immediately and we are excited to welcome her entire family to OU.” You can feel her passion when she speaks about gymnastics. She is clearly growing as an athlete right now and continuing to learn at a tremendous pace. By the time I visited her gym only months later, I saw even more development. “Last year she became a national champion on vault in only her first season as a level 10 gymnast. Her coaches at Perfect Balance rave about her determination, compassion, work ethic and leadership through example.” She began the sport later than most gymnasts and has shown true grit and resilience every step of the way. “We were initially impressed by her gymnastics and the more we learned about her, the more we realized she had quite a unique story. “Allie jumped onto our radar last season.” Kindler said. She was also the North Carolina state vault and floor champion in 2017. She has excelled at state and regional competitions placing among the top at regionals on floor (first), vault (second), and all-around (fifth) in 2017.
Stern, a current level 10 gymnast, competed at the JO National Championships in 2017 where she was the vault champion. Currently, Stern is an honor student at Providence High School. Stern is the daughter of David and Patricia Stern and has one sister named Lexi. We are honored to have them lead us into the next chapter of Sooner Gymnastics.”Īllie Stern, a native of Charlotte, N.C., trains at Perfect Balance Training Center under the direction of Suzie Sanocki and Teshawne Jackson. Most importantly, I see a drive and commitment in these women that will create a "no ceiling" situation for their futures here at OU and beyond. “Both young women have 10.0 valued vaults and will contribute immediately in 2019. “They both boast power and quickness, and will certainly boost the vault and floor line-ups to new heights,” Kindler said. In just her first year as a level 10 gymnast, she won the vault title at the 2017 JO National Championships. Stern has seen success at all levels of competition, including phenomenal performances at the national, regional and state level. She has excelled nationally and internationally, competing at the P&G National Championships and representing the United States at the Jesolo Trophy in Italy. Trautman has been an elite gymnast for the last four years and will bring extensive experience to the Sooner gymnastics program. “Olivia and Allie are top notch people, students, athletes and teammates and they are bringing their super powers to OU!” “Our 2018 class will have a huge impact!” Kindler said. The duo is set to join the program for the 2019 competitive season. Kindler has announced the addition of yet another talented class, as Allie Stern and Olivia Trautman signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.
